Questions
What is an LLC?
A Limited Liability Company is the most common type of small business in the U.S. It separates your personal assets from the company and is simple to keep.
Which state should I choose?
Usually the state where you live and work. If you form in another state, you may have to register again (and pay again) in the state where you operate.
Do I need a Social Security Number?
No. The state does not ask for an SSN to form an LLC, and we can get your EIN even if you do not have an SSN or ITIN.
What is a registered agent?
The person or company that receives official letters for your LLC. It must have a street address in the state. If you live in the state, you can be your own agent at no cost.
How long does it take?
It depends on the state. Some approve in a day or two, others take a few weeks. You can follow your order online.
What if my name is not available?
We check before you pay. If the state still rejects it, we contact you to choose another name and file again at no extra cost.
Is this legal advice?
No. Landmark Filings prepares and files documents based on your answers. We are not a law firm and do not give legal or tax advice.
Ready to start your company?
It takes about 10 minutes. You only pay after we check your name.
